They are mainly retained radicular cysts after tooth extraction. These lesions are asymptotic and have the potential to damage and infect adjacent bone. In addition, they may resemble more serious lesions and tumors on radiographs. It could be argued that early detection and correct diagnosis are critical for effective treatment of residual cysts. The present case report discusses some technical aspects of surgical treatment of a large maxillary midline residual cystic lesion.
Serap Keskin Tunç Abdalrahim Hussein Nazlı Hilal Kahraman Nihat Efe Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Medicine and Applied Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2023-08-30 2023-08-30 3 2 48 53 Is neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio used in the differential diagnosis of adrenal incidentaloma? https://medappsci.com/index.php/jmas/article/view/91
Adrenal incidentaloma (AI) are randomly detected masses, mostly benign and dysfunctional lesions. Benign-malign separation and function evaluation are essential in patients identified in the AI. In this study, we aimed to investigate the availability of neutrophil/lymphocyte rate (NLR) in order to distinguish function evaluation and malignant lesions. Although not statistically significant in lesions with typical adenoma images, we found that NLR was lower. When NLR was evaluated in terms of size, we found a weak but positive correlation between size and NLR. Although NLR was not statistically significant in functional lesions, it was detected higher compared to non-functional lesions.
Zehra Erdemir Köylü Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Medicine and Applied Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2023-08-30 2023-08-30 3 2 20 23 Determination of ınfectious diseases knowledge levels of service users from hairdressers https://medappsci.com/index.php/jmas/article/view/94
Hairdressing salons are one of the sectors where direct physical contact between employees and service users is the most intense. If the necessary hygiene conditions are insufficient, serious risks may arise for both employees and hairdresser service recipients. In line with this information, it is aimed to determine the hygiene and infectious diseases knowledge levels of individuals who receive service from hairdressers in Van. The questionnaire, which was prepared in line with the purpose of the study, was carried out using face-to-face interview technique in the service areas of female hairdressers operating in the central districts of Van (Edremit, Tusba, İpekyolu) between October and December 2021. 46.3% of the participants stated that hairdressing salons pose a risk for infectious diseases and 7.4% pay attention to gloves, 22.2% to use masks, 18.5% to use clean towels and 9.3% to pay attention to hand hygiene in order to protect themselves from infectious diseases. In the study, 42.6% of the individuals who received hairdresser service claimed that they had hepatitis B disease and 33.3% of them claimed that they had treatment for hepatitis C disease. It has been observed that the level of knowledge about AIDS is higher than that of Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. As a result, it is seen that the level of knowledge of individuals who receive hairdressing services, especially about blood-borne diseases, is insufficient. It has been determined that they have either incomplete or incorrect information about other infectious diseases.
Halime Erzen Yıldız Canan Demir Şehriban Yürektürk Tuğba Karahan Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Medicine and Applied Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2023-08-30 2023-08-30 3 2 24 32 What is the relationship between Parkinson's disease and protein carbonyl levels? https://medappsci.com/index.php/jmas/article/view/102
Parkinson's illness is a neurodegenerative disorder that has both motor and sensory findings, characterized by the decrease or complete elimination of dopamine release because of the degeneration of neurons primarily in the substantia nigra pars compacta, afterwards in the globus pallidus, putamen moreover the nucleus caudatus. Even tough researchiers on Parkinson's illness in general focus on the structures of the gray matter, study on the white matter, which is seen as the reason of sensory findings that are known to occur beforehand, rather than motor findings, has been increasing in latest years. This is the goal of our work; To ascertain the communication between parkinson's illness moreover protein carbonyl level.
Maşallah Ermaya Halit Demir Canan Demir Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Medicine and Applied Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2023-08-30 2023-08-30 3 2 33 38 Anti-cancer effects of gold nanoparticles https://medappsci.com/index.php/jmas/article/view/101
The purpose of nanotechnology is to contrive moreover synthesize substances by name nanoparticles (NP) for industrial goals. Nanoparticles with a scale smaller than 100 nm gain recent unusual properties such as area, conductivity, strength, durability furthermore reactivity, which are small in size moreover large in superficies. Thanks to these qualities, nanoparticles; It is frequently applied in different media such as medicine, pharmacy, cosmetics, electronics, textile, industry, as well as food protection. But, it is obvious that such qualities also affect the biological in addition toxicological features of nanoparticles. NPs can with ease pass through important biological barriers moreover membranes in addition interact with organs, cellular organelles furthermore genetic material. Nanoparticles may be the cause of oxidative stress, inflammation, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity moreover apoptosis. Furthermore, feasible genotoxic effects of nanoparticles, chromosome abnormalities (KA), Sister Chromatid Exchange (SCD), Micronucleus (MN), comet/Comet in addition allium parameters are used and observed. The aim of quod research is; To investigate the relationship of gold nanoparticles cum anticancer. Additionally, it is to discredit the alleged ideas about the genotoxic mechanisms of nanoparticles.
Maşallah Ermaya Halit Demir Canan Demir Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Medicine and Applied Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2023-08-30 2023-08-30 3 2 39 47
